Farming Philosophy

Welcome to Silverbrook Farm! We are one of the oldest operation farms in the Commonwealth. On the South Coast of Massachusetts, there remains a pocket of agriculture that still exists. By our proximity to the ocean, we enjoy a unique growing climate as well as beautiful landscapes. We work hard to respect the land, our employees and the history of this special farm.

We grow our products with Sustainable Techniques which means we do not use herbicides, harmful pesticides on our crops. We follow this more labor intensive approach because we believed it is the right thing to do - for our employees, the land and our customers.

We collaborate with other farms in the South Coast area to bring a full array of products to the consumer.  We work with organizations to make our area more green, less wasteful and more food sustainable. 

We host and deliver Consumer Supported Agriculture (CSA) programs and participate in Farmers’ Markets. 

We offer employment and education opportunities for people considering farming as a career.  Some of our interns have stayed for multiple years and leave with a realistic and exciting future vision.

Our Farm has over 350 years of history and we are proud and thankful to carry on the fine tradition.
